Groups offer preferential matching – if a group member is available during a time slot, you’ll be paired. If not, you’ll be paired with another Focusmate member 🥳
No, groups are free to join! If you’d like to join a group, you can browse the list at the end of this page.
We try our best to keep this list up to date, but group admins can choose to not have their group listed publicly. If you have questions or want to join a specific group that isn’t listed here, email [email protected]
If there are people you want to cowork with specifically, you can favorite them and use locked-in sessions!
Creating a private group is a paid feature, suitable mainly for established groups and organizations. If you have a community outside of Focusmate that you’d like to bring to the platform, you can read more about our offerings here.
While we still maintain a few legacy groups for people with similar interests, activities, or careers (such as MedMate and PhD Community), it’s no longer possible to create groups for preferences, as we’re hoping to address these more effectively in the future with different features. Thank you for understanding!
